What are MET values?
MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) measures physical activity intensity. 1 MET = energy spent at rest. Running has ~10 MET, meaning it burns 10x more energy than sitting.
How is calorie burn calculated?
Formula: Calories = MET × weight (kg) × duration (hours). MET values come from the Compendium of Physical Activities.
Exercise and weight loss
Exercise complements dietary calorie deficit. High-intensity exercises (HIIT, CrossFit) burn more calories per minute.
